Po.et, a blockchain-based, open, universal ledger for digital creative assets, has announced the appointment of Jarrod Dicker as the company’s chief executive officer. Po.et uses hashing and cryptography to register digital content ownership on a blockchain, where licensing and other terms can be recorded in a fraud-proof way. Content licensing terms are enforced using smart contracts. The automated process can also streamline negotiations for content distribution. Through Po.et, content is purchased, sold and syndicated using blockchain technology. Since the digital ownership is recorded on a distributed ledger, it is easy to build new, automated digital media workflows and decentralized applications.
Dicker is an entrepreneurial technology and media executive whose experience centres on ushering the legacy media industry into the digital age by researching and developing new ad tech, bringing innovation to newsrooms and decreasing publisher reliance on outdated practices. In his role as CEO at Po.et, Dicker will oversee all strategy, engineering and product development of the Po.et platform and Frost, an open API for publishers, content creators and developers to manage digital creative assets.
