ZenCash, a privacy coin for borderless, decentralized communications and transactions, has announced its public stable launch and the commencement of trading on the Bittrex exchange under the ticker ‘ZEN’. Launched as a friendly hard fork from Zclassic on May 30th, 2017 by founders Josh Yabut, Rob Viglione, Jane Lippencott, and Rolf Versluis, ZenCash offers improved features that incentivize participation in the ecosystem, better allowing value, communications, and data to be securely transmitted and stored. In a related announcement, ZenCash revealed a partnership with CakeCodes, a blockchain adtech and payments company with hundreds of thousands of users who earn cryptocurrency for trying new products, games, and apps.
Viglione said: “ZenCash is delighted to announce its public launch in such grand fashion. We’re already trading on Bittrex, one of the most important exchanges, and are proud to boast a feature set that optimally protects against censorship and prevents the politicization of blockchain technology. Unlike others in our perceived category, we have enabled an alternative funding source with coinbase allocations.”
CakeCodes CEO, Simon Yu remarked: “We are proud to partner with ZenCash, whose mission to create a privacy coin for the masses that includes the most advanced features, is fully compatible with our values and our goals as a consumer-oriented platform.”
As a distributed blockchain system leveraging the latest censorship-evading techniques, fully encrypted communications, and a social and governance model designed for long-term viability, ZenCash features high privacy features. The Zen platform also provides the necessary networking infrastructure for users to safely collaborate and build value within a borderless ecosystem.
Zen will also include secure messaging within its platform hich will let users exchange short messages. The platform will feature innovative functions including ZenTalk, a protected communications network that facilitates one-to-many communications, relying on the blockchain to permanently store messages. In addition, users can publish to channels viewable by anyone with channel capable wallet.
The network will also feature ZenPub, an anonymous document publishing platform utilizing GNUnet or IPFS, and ZenHide, which empowers users with the ability to circumvent blocking of cryptocurrency transactions using domain fronting.
ZenCash Co-Founder and Head of Development, Yabut explained: “The Zen platform gives users autonomy over their own privacy. The Zen platform’s innovative design offers users the option to conduct shielded transactions that obscure information about sender and receiver, as well as the amount of the transaction. Users also have the option to perform transparent transactions.”
All network communications are encrypted between nodes, providing certificate-based encryption connections for ZenCash wallet applications. ZenCash has announced plans to develop improved wallets for Windows, OS X, Linux, Android, and iOS.
The total eventual ZenCash coin supply is 21 million, with the reward halving approximately every four years, in coordination with the structure of Bitcoin.
Zen will be governed by a DAO system, funded by a portion of mining rewards, designed to minimize contention and reduce chances that a disagreement will lead to a hazardous fork in the project. The DAO will also fund the future developments, accelerating partnership opportunities and increasing utility to the ZenCash ecosystem. Zen has announced Co-Founder Jane Lippencott and Maple Ventures Founder and CEO Steven Nerayoff as the first of its DAO officers.
Co-Founder Viglione stated: “ZenCash trading on exchanges demonstrates the market desire for full economic privacy and a token boasting a more robust evolution of zk-SNARK.”
