Wearable Currency Mining from Bitwalking and Misfit

Bitwalking and Misfit have announced a partnership to bring currency mining to wearable devices. This partnership will provide users with the ability to generate W$  - ’Walking Dollars’ – directly from Misfit wearable devices, enjoying additional impact and edge to their wearable experience, with the update for Misfit devices will roll out in the coming months.

With Bitwalking, users generate money by walking. The platform converts steps into digital currency at the same value for everyone. Misfit is now the first wearable technology brand that is Bitwalking-certified . The Misfit product line will be integrated with the Bitwalking platform, allowing users to mine digital currency directly with their smartwatch or fitness-tracking devices.

Nissan Bahar, CEO of Bitwalking, remarked: “Misfit is different — they are not afraid to push boundaries, to create new spaces. Misfit is at the forefront of movement tracking devices and an exciting partner for exploring how the Bitwalking world will look beyond traditional mobile devices. The wearable space is a natural expansion for Bitwalking, creating a technology that walks with us and recognizes our human value.”

To combat the high costs of generating some cryptocurrencies, Misfit has joined Bitwalking to provide access to currency and mobile payments with the company planning to offer innovative schemes and easy-to-use technologies for anyone to become involved with. New features will be available globally through Bitwalking’s platform and selected partners.

Preston Moxcey, General Manager of Misfit, commented: “Incentives work — and they can help people stay motivated to be active. Bitwalking amplifies the impact Misfit can have through innovations in mobile currency,”

Misfit devices will also become available at Bitwalking’s in-app store, with users able to purchase selected Misfit products with W$. Misfit wearables able to track cycling, swimming, and sleep patterns with increasing accuracy and promote themselves as lightweight, durable and ready to be used in all climates and conditions throughout the world.
