Mobile bitcoin wallet provider Airbitz has announced the release of its version 2.2.0, with updates to password recovery, expanded use and plugin API. The company also announced it would be revealing some important news soon but no details have yet been provided.
Despite having no access to any accounts or user data, Airbitz has added the ability for users to be able to recover their account password, meaning that the application with zero-knowledge user privacy can still facilitate a similar password recovery to systems that keep user data.
Arcade City, a ridesharing disrupter, which was the first partner to fully utilize the Airbitz SDK, has now been released in app stores. Customers who create new accounts will have the benefit from Airbitz Edge Security active as soon as it is downloaded, and will also each have an in-app bitcoin wallet when it goes live in a future release.
Earlier in the year, Airbitz released its Edge Security SDK, and since then it has continued to develop and expand its compatibility to web apps and other features. The latest development for this is that the SDK now has a matching Plugin API to go with it. The Plugin architecture has been in use internally for almost a year supporting the Glidera and Foldapp integrations and now BitRefill has created a plugin that provides a mobile minutes top-up service to Airbitz users.
