Ethereum Classic Added to Jaxx Blockchain Wallet on 7 Platforms

Following news that cryptocurrency Dash has been rejected by Apple’s App Store team, universal blockchain wallet creator Jaxx has announced the integration of Ethereum Classic (ETC) into its suite of software wallets on 7 different platforms. Jaxx has submitted an updated version of its app to the iOS App Store is hoping that it will be approved in the next few days.

Jaxx Founder and CEO and co-founder of Ethereum, Anthony Di Iorio said: “Last week, Apple issued us a directive indicating that only six digital currencies were supported on the iOS App Store. As a result, we will be forced to remove Dash from the iOS versions of the Jaxx wallet on September 14, 2016. Although Ethereum was deemed acceptable, we do not yet know whether or not Ethereum Classic will be supported. As progress must be made, Jaxx has today integrated Ethereum Classic in our apps on both Android mobile and tablet, Mac OS, Windows, and Linux desktop versions, and through our Chrome and Firefox extensions. We have also submitted a new version of Jaxx to the iOS App Store for both iPhone and iPad, it is our hope that Apple will permit Ethereum Classic as well for iPhone and iPad users.”

In last week’s Apple-issued directive, six tokens were identified as supported: Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, the DAO and Ripple. Ethereum Classic is currently the 6th most valuable blockchain token by market cap, valued at $124 million. ETC will today be available on seven of the nine platforms Jaxx supports, with approval pending on the iOS App Store.

Di Iorio added: “Millions of people across the world are beginning to take advantage of blockchain, a revolutionary technology with transformative power. Adding Ethereum Classic makes a lot of sense for Jaxx, a pro-technology, pro-blockchain wallet. After the successful integration of Dash last month, and now ETC, Jaxx currently has five tokens fully supported. Although Dash will soon be removed from the iOS version of Jaxx, user funds will continue to be available in all other versions of our app. We’re proud to be among the first to embrace the future, multi-coin world,” concluded Di Iorio.
