Not since the race of Hippomenes and Atalanta has an apple stopped a dash; however, Decentral, the Canadian innovation hub, this week announced that Apple has asked it to remove the Dash cryptocurrency from its Jaxx interface. The cryptocurrency wallet was asked to remove its support of Dash on its iOS app, which the company appears to have done. In a message on twitter, Decentral explained that Apple had only approved Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Doge, Ripple and the DAO.
In a tweet, CEO of Decentral, Anthony Di Iorio wrote: “Apple just called. They want @Dashpay removed from @jaxx_io. Only some coins authorized for @AppStore. We’re determining course of action.”
It is unclear as to why Apple has made this decision to ban Dash; although they made a similar decision about Bitcoin previously, only to revoke it following outcry from cryptocurrency users. Jaxx is set to add support for Ethereum Classic soon.
