Dash Gives Latest Monthly Update, New Developments and Temporary Setbacks

Cryptocurrency Dash has recently provided an update on its core team progress, covering the four main strategic areas of its 2016 plan: software development, business development, marketing & communication, and project organisation.

In software development, the Dash core wallet – version 12.x – has seen the closure of its development phase and has moved onto testnet release., whereas the prototype Dash Evolution Web Wallet completed client SPA framework with Backbone & Marionette. The goal of the project is to have decentralised Dash web wallet to be working like a banking wallet but with the possibility to integrate it with different services. The Evolution Web Wallet has completed integration of various SPV frameworks for Web SPV wallet functions.

Dash wallet for Android has updated features and work is starting work on functional and graphical improvements and bug fixes. A two phase launch is planned. Phase 1 is for volunteers who want to install the newest version that has full InstantSend support and the new UI. Phase 2 will happen two weeks later and the update will be pushed to Google Play.

The Dash iPhone Wallet is experiencing issues and resistance from AppStore. Also experiencing setbacks is the Armory wallet, where development has been suspended due to uncertainty on the Armoury project status. With the Electrum-Dash wallet development, development of masternode operations with KeepKey has started. Masternode operations from the wallet have been developed for Trezor.

Fiat Gateways project now has 4 developers work on it, with 3 at Lamassu, and a budget control system has been implemented. Regular weekly calls have been established to provide status updates and more control over the project, with assisting PM engaged to help with organization.

Work is in progress for merchant Integration: a technical specification is being worked out and consulted.

Shake are reported as seemingly dealing with internal issues as there have been limited responses from the Shake partner. Shake is wrapping up testing on the physical cards and now plans to launch Dash and the physical cards in approximately two weeks. Dash has inquired with Shake about the availability of a commercial debit card or multi-user card.

In marketing and communications, cooperation with 8BTC has been relaunched. There is a new website design; however, delays have been experienced due to limited availability and high workload of developers. The Dash Wiki now includes a glossary and updates in Dash Wallet section. Dash has now started preparation for d10e conference in San Francisco in July which will be transmitted in VR. Additionally, work has started on the preparation for the Atlanta Bitcoin Meetup in August.

A variety Dash’s media channels, such as its youtube channel, have been updated or rebranded and have added updates in English, Chinese, Russian and Japanese. Additional support has also been provided for Dash in China, Russia, Portugal and Brazil.

Finally, for project organization, a second draft of the Dash Project Management Framework has been submitted for discussion. Evolution Planning has started with the goal of significantly shortening the time of Evolution delivery and resources optimization. Mapping of licenses and copyrights in the project has started and planning of the Q3 and Q4 budget has also begun.
