Canadian blockchain-technology developer BTL Group Ltd. has announced that it has appointed a number of new members along with a grant of stock options. Brian Hinchcliffe will take up his position as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, Rob Suttie will be joining as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary, and John Thomson will be assuming the role of Lead Director of the Board of Directors.
Hinchcliffe has been a director of the corporation since its inception and will now act as Executive Chairman. He has been involved in projects in the natural resources sector for nearly 20 years and has sat on the board of directors of numerous publicly listed companies. He served as Vice President at Goldman Sachs for ten years before launching an entrepreneurial career. Hinchcliffe is a co-founder of Kirkland Lake Gold Inc. and previously served as its President and CEO. Currently, Hinchcliffe is Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Belvedere Resources Ltd. and a director of Rupert Resources Ltd., both Exchange listed companies.
Suttie has had 20 years of experience in financial services, including twelve years in public accounting, specializing in management advisory, accounting, and financial disclosure. His public company experience includes financial reporting and advisory services, initial public offerings, business combinations and spin-out transactions. Suttie has served as Chief Financial Officer to a number of companies listed on the TSX and TSX Venture exchanges, and is currently the Vice President of Marrelli Support Services Inc.
Thomson has been a director of BTL Group Ltd. since its inception and will now act as Lead Director. Thomson is a Chartered Accountant from Scotland who has also studied at a graduate business school INSEAD and has worked internationally in a variety of senior roles for companies. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer and a director of Kirkland Lake Gold Inc., a TSX listed operating and exploration gold company located in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. Thomson is also a director of Belvedere Resources Ltd. and Rambler Metals & Mining Plc, both Exchange listed companies.
BTL Group Ltd. also announced the grant of options to Suttie to acquire a total of 75,000 common shares of the BTL Group Ltd. at an exercise price of $0.51 per share, such options to vest as to one-half on March 11, 2017 and one-half on March 11, 2018. These options expire five years from the date of grant.
