In partnership with Hong Kong-based innovation matchmaking firm Matchi, Sony Corporation is challenging the global FinTech community to respond to the FinTech Innovation Challenge to compete for Proof-of-Concept (PoC) project within the multinational conglomerate.
The highest ranking innovation in each of the six themes will have an opportunity to present their solution to a judging panel from Sony on 17 March 2016. From there, at least one innovation will be announced as the overall winner and will continue through to the PoC project phase within Sony.
One of the six challenge categories is Blockchain-based solutions related to film and music industries, with recommended focus areas being content creation, equipment lease, crowd funding, demand prediction, right management and ticket distribution.

Entries for all categories are being accepted from 22nd January to 17th February. Other important dates include validation of entries from 22nd February to 28th February, entry scoring from 29th February to 6th March, shortlisting on 7th March, judging from 8th March to 9th March, announcement of finalists on 10th March, final judging on 15th March to 17th March, and announcement of winners on 18th March.
