The team behind privacy-centric cryptocurrency Dash has released a iPhone wallet app for Dash based on the popular Breadwallet for Bitcoin.
The deterministic wallet also integrates with Shapeshift.io, an instant cryptocurrency exchange, permitting users to scan a bitcoin address from their Dash Wallet and pay straight with Dash, at any coffee shop or store that accepts bitcoin. Dash formed an agreement with Shapeshift.io where the exchange shares part of the fee with the Dash Foundation and there is no increase in fees.
The problem for Dash is that, like other cryptocurrency apps, Apple has denied an application to include Dash’s wallet in AppStore.
Fernando Gutierrez, a member of the Dash team, noted:
This is really frustrating, but we will re apply in the near future when we completely understand the reasons behind their rejection. It is their store and they set the rules, so we can’t really force them to accept us.
Currently, Dash has a self-compile version of the wallet available right away. According to Gutierrez, this Dash wallet app is completely legal with no “jailbreaking” required. Installing the wallet is not trivial, but there is a guide available.
