Ukrainian-American outsourcing firm Innovecs has opened a blockchain technology R&D center in Kyiv, Ukraine. Innovecs is also accepting bitcoin as a payment for services, through payment technology provided by BitPay.
Alex Lutski, Innovecs CEO & Co-founder, noted that the software firm was developing relationships with US and European product companies that utilize Blockchain technology. The acceptance of bitcoin payments is also apparently compatible with the needs of Innovecs’ clients.
Lutski also indicated that establishing the R&D center opens up new technological opportunities with global corporations and at the country-wide level.
Michael Chobanyan, Innovecs VP of blockchain technology & fintech business, added that Innovecs’ decision to accept bitcoin and specialize in Blockchain technology systems development are logical steps for servicing potential clients in the bitcoin sector.
The move by Innovecs is a result of the wave of enterprises and governments investing in blockchain technology and fintech solutions development and research. They cite the UK government plans to spend £10 million on Blockchain and distributed ledger technology research, financial leaders like Citigroup, Barclays and UBS testing cryptocurrencies, and Visa’s investment in blockchain tech labs.
