Confiscated Silk Road Bitcoin Auction Won by Four Parties

The final U.S. Marshals auction of seized Silk Road bitcoins was completed last week and the auctions were won by four different bidders. The auction consisted of bids for 21 blocks consisting of 2,000 bitcoins and 1 block of just over 2,341 bitcoins.

So far, the only winner that has been revealed is itBit, who confirmed that it won 10,000 BTC (5 blocks of 2,000), worth approximately $3.9 million at the time, on behalf of a syndicate of clients and investors. The other unannounced winners won amounts of 4,000 BTC, 6,000 BTC and 24,341 BTC.
