Blockchain Technology Used for Scoring CNN Republican Presidential Debate Poll

Blockchain Apparatus, a subsidiary of Blockchain Technologies Corporation, scored last weeks’ CNN Republican presidential debate at New York’s Metropolitan Republican Club in a post-debate party straw poll assessing the night’s winner.

The poll was a follow up to an earlier poll at the club, conducted after the Fox News GOP debate, utilizing the blockchain—the technology underlying the bitcoin cryptocurrency. Among other things, the company can conduct secure elections using the blockchain to ensure votes that are cast are unique and not counterfeit.

The company has filed a non-provisional utility patent titled ‘System and Method For Securely Receiving And Counting Votes In An Election’ – Application number 14820530. Executives from Blockchain Technologies Corporation indicate that the company will continue to show case its voting technology offerings throughout the 2016 election cycle.

Participants in the poll were asked: “who do you think one tonight’s debate?” Below are the official results from the blockchain-based 2016 CNN presidential debate straw poll:

Carly Fiorina 29
Donald J. Trump 24
Marco Rubio 11
Ted Cruz 10
Rand Paul 8
John Kasich 7
Chris Christie 6
Jeb Bush 5
Ben Carson 4
Scott Walker 2

Donald Trump won the blockchain-based poll after the August debate.

Ethereum-based high profile project, Augur, is using blockchain technology to develop a platform for any kind of prediction market. Augur is currently holding a crowdsale of its own cryptocurrency.
