Continuing to expand globally, Coinbase just revealed that it is now offering services in Singapore.
Singaporeans can now use Coinbase to buy and sell bitcoin with Singapore dollars.
Our mission at Coinbase is to make payments more open and efficient around the world. Expanding to Singapore is an important step towards that goal and will make it easier to access bitcoin in one of the financial capitals of the world.
To celebrate the launch, Coinbase will waive its retail conversion fees for Singapore customers of the direct Buy/Sell service, available at Coinbase.com, through September 9 (11:59 Pacific time). To get started, simply sign up for a Coinbase account. As always, please be sure to let us know what you think on Twitter and in our Community Forum.
The move is part of a global push to provide bitcoin trading capability. The company only just announced this week expansion into Canada.
Coinbase is also this week fully integrated with Calgary-based Vogogo’s platform. The Canadian company completed integration of its proprietary compliance, risk management and payment processing platform with the Coinbase exchange.
Vogogo expects to derive revenue from the integration in line with its established business model.
Founded in 2008, TSX Venture Exchange listed Vogogo built and launched a web-based payment processing technology while developing expertise in software development, payments, risk management, compliance and related financial services.
