Blockchain-based cloud storage project Storj.io has launched its Test Group B.
The project has already met its first milestone of 100 GB storage in less than a day, and the second one of 100 TB in less than a week. They are rewarding test participants with bounties of its proprietary currency SJCX.
In its preliminary test Storj rewarded participants with over 45,000 SJCX.
The Storj team announced:
We are ready for Test Group B. We will give users a few hours before we take a snapshot and distribute 100,000 SJCX in rewards for the second milestone. Any SJCX address can participate for testing purposes, but to receive a reward holding a 10,000 SJCX balance is required.
If you haven’t already joined Test Group B, you can find a step-by-step guide to our client software here. If you already installed the software in the previous email, an upgrade is mandatory to receive a reward. Non-crowdsale participants will have to contribute to the rewards pool at a later date (we would rather move forward on testing and do that later).
Storj uses blockchain features like a transaction ledger, public & private key encryption, and cryptographic hash functions for security of its drive sharing network.
In October 2014, Storj raised over 910 BTC in a crowdsale of its SJCX. The funds have been used primarily for development of the blockchain-based cloud storage platform.
