Amsterdam-based BlockTrail, a Bitcoin platform & API provider, has acquired blockchain-based messaging application SendChat. The detail of the acquisition were not disclosed.
In May, SendChat ran a ten day crowdsale of its Proof-of-Stake proprietary cryptocurrency, SEND, on the Blocktrust crowdfunding platform. The messaging application project was only able to raised 13.648 bitcoins, below its target of 90.
Blocktrail made this announcement this week:
Over the past few months we’ve been working closely with SendChat, which was using our platform for its infrastructure and security. As we continue to grow we are always monitoring the Bitcoin and financial technology space for companies that can help further our own mission and which we have synergy with.
SendChat founder Alejandro De La Torre will be joining the BlockTrail team, will participate in Blocktrail’s business and marketing efforts, and lead new project developments.
De La Torre founded SendChat to enable social messaging with blockchain technology and cryptocurrency peer-to-peer transfers.
