New Hampshire-based firm Ziftr has released the Beta version of Ziftr Wallet Mobile for Android, a digital wallet that holds Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogecoin virtual currencies.
The company indicated that other popular altcoins like Primecoin, Peercoin, Startcoin and Ziftrcoin would be added soon.
In addition to storing those currencies, users can control their private keys without constantly being connected to the block chain, store most of the block chain on the cloud and keeps it synched to maximize speed and minimize the amount of storage space needed, and get updates on crypto-currency market rates.
In the coming months, Ziftr will add functionality to the wallet that will enable it to store a large number of altcoins including Ziftrcoin, Ziftr’s own altcoin for online shoppers.
The company’s ultimate goal is to present consumers with “one secure place where they can store all of their money – whether it’s cryptocurrency or traditional fiat currency.”
The wallet app is part of Ziftr’s suite of shopping tools. To fund the ongoing development of these tools, Ziftr noted that it will launch the Ziftrcoin Crowd Sale on December 9, inviting interested parties to purchase Ziftrcoins starting at 1 BTC for 1,600 Ziftrcoins.
Ziftr was founded in 2013 by Robert Wilkins and is owned by his other company, myVBO, a full service design, marketing and development company.
